The Microsoft Azure, Cloud and Enterprise Symbol / Icon Set is a Free download from Microsoft that includes the icons for all the different Microsoft Azure services and other products. These icons are extremely helpful in creating much nicer architectural diagrams for systems that use Microsoft Azure services. These icons can be used to help you have fun in creating internal project diagrams to impress your co-workers or boss. Or, you can use these icons to give your architecture diagrams and project documentation a more professional look before you deliver to your clients.
Microsoft Azure Service & Cloud Icons in SVG Format
I use these icons in images and diagrams in my own work to represent the appropriate Microsoft Azure service. They really help enhance the professional look and feel of the content that I build, and increase the brand cohesiveness between the products I’m writing about and the Microsoft branding for them.
The download consists of a .zip file that contains a collection of .svg images for the various Microsoft Azure icons. You can import these images directly into Microsoft PowerPoint, or even open them in your browser and take screenshots of them from there. Microsoft has stated that they are planning to update the downloaded collection of icons over time.
What can I use these Azure icons for?
You can use this download collection of Azure icons for the following purposes:
- Use the icons to illustrate how products can work together
- In diagrams, to represent the specific Azure service. It’s recommended to use the Azure service name in your diagrams as well to alleviate potential confusion.

What file format are the images?
The icons in this collection are in SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) format. You can easily resize these images to fit your needs without compromising on the quality of the icons in your diagrams, PowerPoints, etc.

Hi Chris, from what I’ve read online it seems that Microsoft is wanting us to start using the new style of icons that we can find from: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/solutions/architecture/. Are there any available Visio stencils for those new icons? Or are they not available yet?
I’m still amazed that they stopped developing the 3D templates! They were amazing.
Those are example architectures. MS uses the icons I linked to when creating these diagrams.
This pack is out of date. I found it (v2.6) via Google yesterday and found that it’s using the old Logic Apps icon. Was hoping you were pointing to a new file. Not a criticism. Just FYI.

Good to have this, but there’s still a lot of work to do in the colour consistency department.
If one needs to document existing azure solutions, in build, to try and reverse engineer what has been built for Enterprise, for example Rest APIs in addition to Vms etc, is there anything out there which can rebuild some realtime diagrams other than azuredocit.
Not any automatic tools that I know of.

Does it contain azure devops images?
No, the Azure DevOps branding is newer than the latest Azure icon set .zip file download. You may be able to use the Azure Icon Downloader extension for Chrome to help get the DevOps images: https://buildazure.com/2019/04/12/azure-icon-downloader-chrome-extension/
Microsoft recently, May 8th, published an update to the icon set download. This update includes Azure DevOps and many other latest icons.
So it looks like Microsoft removed the PowerPoint and Visio version of the icon library. This really makes no sense to me as now it seems Amazon and Google are doing a better job supporting systems architects than MSFT. I really don’ want to go import every single icon into a PPT, lookup the label, and then make my own deck every time they update an icon.

OK. So it wasn’t me. I was trying to figure out how to import them so they appear in my stencils in visio, and instead I got a bunch of SVG files. weird.
Hello there! I have spent at least the last 30 minutes trying to figure out how to easily import the icons into Powerpoint. Is there an easy way to import these into the icons in PPT? When I download the icons, I have to individually iport them as pictres, Not very efficient. Also, I don;t see ADLS Gn 2 icons etc….they don’t seem current. Please advise.
The download from Microsoft is a zip file with images in it. What are you look for?
Looking for a true Visio Stencil that I can use creating drawing for our new Azure environment. The download is now all .SVG files which Visio does not recognize as a shape to put in a Diagram.
