The Microsoft conference “for developers by developers” is almost upon us, and registration has officially opened! This Microsoft annual, and largest developer focused conference of the year. Historically it has been held in-person, but due to recent events, this years Microsoft Build event is being help as a “virtual event” online. The event will be offering a Free, 48-hour digital experience running May 19 – 20, 2020.
This years event is being held as a purely digital-only event. This means there is no in-person gathering, or participation. The presentations will be given by Microsoft product team members within their homes, streamed to you in your home. You will have a great opportunity to both learn all about the latest Microsoft technologies, and to interact directly with product team members as well. Microsoft is framing this event to provide a similar experience to previous years in-person events, but with the entire event being held online in a virtual fashion.
Register now to unlock insider access to live sessions with engineers and Q&A!
It’s clear that Microsoft is putting together a new, unique event. They are planning on holding multiple live streams to bring the content to you, rather than you going to them. In addition to all the interactive Q&A and panels planned for the event, in addition to sessions, they are going to be recording everything for your bingeing pleasure after the event.
Here’s a short teaser from Scott Hanselman:
After my own experience attending the Microsoft MVP Summit earlier this year that was held entirely within Microsoft Teams, I can’t wait to see what Microsoft has planned to bring us a new way of holding Microsoft events online with this years //Build.
I hope to see all you Developers at this years, first ever, remote Microsoft Build digital-only conference experience. At least in the time of current events, we still have an awesome developer event from Microsoft to look forward to! I’ll see you all in Seat.. ahem, Online!
P.S. The registration did require me to tell them my mailing address. What?! For an online-only, virtual event? Yes. I don’t know what this means exactly, if anything, but there may be a surprise coming. Here’s to hoping for cool swag! {fingers crossed}
